A Little About Me…

Hey Sis,

I’m so glad you’re here, and I want to share a piece of my story with you. Becoming a therapist wasn’t just a career choice—it’s my calling, my purpose. Growing up in a typical Black family, I saw how we carried pain, brushed it off, and kept moving because that’s what we had to do. We learned to hold it in, to survive, but rarely to heal.

I remember a moment that changed everything for me—a family member was diagnosed with a debilitating illness, and watching them struggle with depression and anger hit me deeply. It was like their spirit was trapped, and no one knew how to help them free it. We didn’t talk about it, just prayed, hoped, and carried on. But inside, I knew something was missing—we needed to talk, to feel, to release.

As I grew up, navigating my own pain—from heartbreaks, confusion about who I was, and the weight of trying to be strong all the time—I didn’t always have the words to express what I was feeling. But through therapy and some serious soul searching, I found my voice, my power, and my healing. And I knew I had to give that gift back to my sisters who are carrying burdens they shouldn’t have to.

Now, I’m here to do that for you. I see you—the anxiety, the trauma, the struggle with self-worth, the weight of transition that feels like it’s suffocating you sometimes. I’m here to help you uncover your strength, to remind you that your healing matters.

In addition to my work with clients, I also serve on the University of Missouri – St. Louis’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Advisory Board and provide supervision to graduate students in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at UMSL. My mission extends beyond individual healing—I’m committed to shaping the next generation of multicultural therapists and ensuring our voices are heard in mental health spaces.

Together, we’ll dig deep into what’s really holding you back, find the tools to release that pain, and start building the life and peace you deserve. You don’t have to walk through this alone. I’ve got you.

Your healing is calling. Let’s answer it, together.

With love and light,
